2001-2010 was snowiest decade on record

Now that we have reached the end of the meteorological winter (December-February,) Rutgers University Global Snow Lab numbers (1967-2010) show that the just completed decade (2001-2010) had the snowiest Northern Hemisphere winters on record. The just completed winter was also the second snowiest on record, exceeded only by 1978. Average winter snow extent during the past decade was greater than 45,500,000 km2, beating out the 1960s by about 70,000 km2, and beating out the 1990s by nearly 1,000,000 km2. The bar chart below shows average winter snow extent for each decade going back to the late 1960s.

D-uh! I don’t know where you’ve been but it has been well documented, AGW => more cold and snow! Therefore you are clearly seeing irrefutable signs of global warming!!! /end of sarcasm ;-)

Of course, alarmists who cry “hottest decade on record” will now possibly accuse skeptics of trying to “spin” those snow figures.

An interesting article demonstrating the selective use of data to make a point. Whilst the data relating to winter snow cover shows a higher level than the previous decade, the data for spring and summer snow cover is far more revealing. There has been a significant trend showing an ever decreasing amount of snow cover for both spring and summer over four or five decades. This indicates that whilst even though there has been a period of higher snow cover in winter over a decade the cover itself is melting at a far more rapid rate than in previous decades indicating that there is greater warmth over those periods. The data for fall is erratic. On the balance of evidence this data indicates warming rather than not. http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/ 2008 report.

…and Al Whore said that ‘warm weather causes more snow’ then why was there not as much snow between 1981 to 2000.
It was warmer then than now…if he is right then we should all remember being covered under a mountain of snow during those times!!!

A person with an I.Q. higher than 10 knows that warm air and moisture cause rain, cold air and moisture cause snow.
But some people think that 2+2=5, and we all know who those people are!

Apologies to all but I can’t resist resurrecting this quote from the year 2000:

According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

He has been described by an AGW Alarmist as…” a giant of climate science”

Do you see any of these stories on television news after two decades of relentless press coverage of Global Warming with no questions asked? The national media’s continued silence on ClimateGate and increasing revelations of outright fraud and wrongdoing at all levels of government, academia and the media itself, tells the truth of the tail. That truth is there’s a lot more to this ClimateGate story than what little is being reported. The small (2 to 3 dozen) international cabal of climate scientists could not have possibly gotten to this point without extraordinary funding, political support at virtually all levels of government, especially at the national level and unparalleled cooperation from the national and world media. This wide-spread networked support continues even as we-the-people puzzle over what this is all about. I ask you, “What are you seeing and hearing from our national media on the subject?” Anything? What are you seeing and hearing from all levels of our government, local and regional newspapers and media outlets? Anything of substance? At all of these levels the chatter has remained remarkably quite on the subject, wouldn’t you say? Why? What points and positions are you beginning to hear on the radio and see on the television? This cabal of scientists has an unprecedented level of support given the revelations contained in the emails, documented in the computer software code and elaborated in the associated programmer remarks (REM) within the code. And —- this has gone on for years, AND continues even in the presence of the most damning evidence one could imagine, or even hope for. Watergate pales in comparison, given the trillions of dollars in carbon offset taxes, cap & trade fees hanging in the balance and the unimaginable political control over people’s lives this all implies. The mainstream media’s conspiracy of silence proves the point. Their continued cover-up is as much a part of this crime as the actual scientific fraud. ABC, CBS and NBC are simply co-conspirators exercising their 5th Amendment rights.

…yes you are right!!. The media and other forms of information, are under the influience of the few Elitest that say they know what is better for the world and you and I.
Night after night, commercial after commercial, and documentory after documentory they have said that man is ‘killing’ the Earth! And know that irrefutable evidence has been shown that man is not the cause, they say very little. All these people know and have known (im sure some were and still are just ignorant) they say that AGW is still because of man and we must rush to stop it!!! Only people with a hidden agenda will over look the truth and keep moving down the path that will destroy the modern way of life we all know today. Hitler knew what was best for the world, and we all know what he did!!
