Does it help the AGW cause by being a potty mouth?

This is essentially a scientific argument and it’s quite amazing that all the foul mouthed abuse is being slung by the side who claim to rest their case solely on scientific fact. If that’s the case then why the need for all the vitriolic bullying, bordering on fanaticism? It seems that an important component of the tactic is to whip up a frenzy to get mob rule to carry on the argument where the facts don’t add up.

I apologise for even repeating this example, and I won’t go into explanation as to what it suggests, but the fact that it was spouted by an Anglican Bishop in the UK just makes my jaw drop in amazement.

People who fail to tackle climate change are acting like an Austrian man who locked his daughter in a cellar for 24 years, an Anglican bishop has said.

The Bishop of Stafford, Gordon Mursell, wrote in a parish letter that not confronting global warming meant people were “as guilty as” Josef Fritzl. source

Of course Dr R K Pachauri’s comments are legendary, but not in a good way, and the IPCC must cringe with embarrassment every time he opens his mouth. They might like to honour him with the title ‘Lord of the Blooper’ to recognise his ability to offend fried and foe alike with such little effort or thought.

“[skeptics] are people who deny the link between smoking and cancer; they are people who say that asbestos is as good as talcum powder, I hope that they apply it [asbestos] to their faces every day.” source

But by attacking both the government’s own report on the glaciers – which he described as “voodoo science” – and the environment secretary, Jairam Ramesh – who he accused of “strengthening the claims of climate change deniers” – he made powerful enemies.

If Dr Pachauri leaves any legacy to the world after he leaves the IPCC, it will be recognition that you don’t make a weak argument any stronger with abuse, something UK politicians haven’t learned with their accusations of skeptics being ‘flat earthers’ and ‘deniers’.

I can respond using equal childishness, but lacking their offensiveness – with ‘Just because you’re losing.’

The investigation into climategate has just released a damning report with respect to the research, the refusal to release information and the deceit, fraud and lies. Thank God, perhaps this is the beginning of the end of the elitist fraud.

  2. Graham says:

The first thing we should do with the UEA CRU is move it to a country like North Korea where government propagandism is really appreciated.

That’s harsh – but true. They can site it next door to the offices of the IPCC.

Those who want to watch something like a cult in full “wounded bear” mode could do worse than visit realclimate.com and read the comments. Non-Climategaters who post to that site with criticisms, questions, suggestions, are eviscerated with gusto. Now, this has been going on for some time. A little reading will reveal that Climategaters just cannot get their minds around ideas such as “replicating the research.” For them, replicating means doing a parallel study of the same phenomena. The idea of actually repeating the research is beyond them.

The only conclusion that comes from this world wide collusion of CIA, scientists, politicians, celebrities, media and church into promoting the end of the world because of MAN must be planned!. The plan is to control the world resources by one world government, as the UN preaches. We need to KILL this plan at its roots, Cull any and all its promoters from positions of power and take all their Carbon Fraud profits from their dead hands!. I believe it may be too late to change this PLAN

  5. Al [not Gore thankgoodness] says:

The Bishop of Stafford is no different than Al Gore and all the other preachers. They get paid for telling lies.
They are non-thinkers, not seekers of truth.
They spew out their gospels, and when anyone questions them as to why? they say because God /Al Gore said so.
Any proof??? No. They don’t need any because its in the book/ipcc report.

Heat and light (Infra red, white light and ultra violet) all make up the electromagnetic spectrum.

Therefore physics of this article is questionable. It would be better if it was deleted.

The best explanation of the so called greenhouse effect is here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_absorption

CO2 absorbs at wavelengths that water does not absorb.

Therefore an atmosphere of CO2 does not produce the Greenhouse effect nor would an atmosphere of water vapour. In essence both need to be present for it to work.

There should be no Greenhouse effect over deserts. (Polar Regions are also deserts)

CO2 is 1½ times the mass of air. Therefore it diminishes with height and at a certain height it is so sparse as to be totally ineffective as a Greenhouse gas.

But where the AGW theory totally breaks down is that CO2 is at its lowest levels ever.

The concentration has to be at least 340ppm so that vegetation can produce enough O2 (20%+) through photosynthesis so that we all can live.

In fact we should be trying to increase CO2 and not lower it.

The comments from the Bishop of Stafford, and previous similar remarks by the Archbishop of Canterbury, make me wonder how much of the Church Commisioners money is invested in “green” funds.

  8. Bill says:

The hypocrite Bishop of Stafford forgot to mention a caveat, his pension depends on global warming being real. He also forgets the church has many Fritzl’s in it’s own ranks.

“The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) is a forum for collaboration on climate change for European investors. The group’s objective is to catalyse greater investment in a low carbon economy by bringing investors together to use their collective influence with companies, policymakers and investors. The group currently has over 50 members, including some of the largest pension funds and asset managers in Europe, and represents assets of around €4trillion. A full list of members is available on the membership page”.

Did you catch that: FOUR TRILLION EUROS!

These guys are in this thing deep, and many may stand to loose their pensions, and some churches other than the ‘Church of AGW’ may also loose their robes.

Members of the IIGCC include (I trimmed the list a bit):

    Baptist Union of Great Britain
    BBC Pension Trust
    Bedfordshire Pension Fund

I only realised the other week that my own pension fund, West Yorkshire, invests heavily in this fraud. To be honest I would rather lose the lot than have my children and grandchildren’s futures destroyed by global governance and fuel poverty. To be fair I do believe a lot of these investors were gullible and thought they were investing in something ‘to save the planet’, however, now it is all falling apart they are making any wild statement to support it. Just look at the BBC!!!
