I've always heard that lead was bad, really , how bad is it. This is going to sound stupid but when I was a boy living in Texas as I still do. My friends and I all had pellet guns. The pellets are solid lead. Guess where we would keep the pellets? Not in the container they came in, but in (I know this is stupid) mouths! We would even chew them like gum. I am 37 now and have only been sick 3 times in my whole life (in bed sick). My health has never been a problem. So just how bad is lead? Maybe im just lucky.

survival of the fittest. If a kid eats lead paint chips and dies, he is not able to pollute the earth by reproducing. Problem solved! Unfortunately, not enough kids ate lead paint in the past, and grew up to become liberals.

Overwhelming evidence? That's laughable. But remember, before November, the adjective used was CONCLUSIVE, now it's overwhelming, so they're getting closer to the true adjective MANUFACTURED. Warmists play funny word games. Remember, once it was GLOBAL WARMING, now it's climate change. Climate change? Really? The climate is constantly changing. Now I read global warming causes it to snow more......or less, depending on where you are. Also, global warming causes sea levels to rise......but, increased evaporation from these ever expanding seas causes increased oceanic salinity. Give me a break. They can't even agree on which slant they want to take. I have a hard time keeping up. Someone let me know when we can bury this garbage "science"? once and for all.

John, I believe you're worth a couple of million dollars for not farting anymore, your wife might think it's worth even more.

However, taking into account the monitoring costs, we may have to reduce it to $1.5M!

I think that a reasoned suggestion like this, put to the EPA, should have a good chance of success.

If the EPA doesn't get reigned in by someone they will soon have nothing to do because everyone will be bankrupt. This lead paint is BS, every house I grew up in had lead in the paint. It was only a problem if you had some moron child who ate the paint.

They also had a ban on motorcycles for kids because of lead. This finally got thrown out. Think of the stupidity. Some kid's going to eat a brake pedal?

Interesting that you chose "If you want your house repainted" as a casual starting point. Actually, if you want your house repainted, the EPA has just made it vastly more expensive. New rules require painters and remodelers to do the whole Hazmat routine when scraping off old paint, with a trained Lead Consultant on hand. Lead is going to be treated like asbestos.

"Preliminary calculations by the grant applicants estimate that by 2012 the projects will reduce about 135,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually—equivalent to the emissions from 25,000 passenger vehicles or 12,000 homes"

So, in other words, it will compensate for Captain Carbon's Tennessee mansion.

Broad key in Florida has a spectacular boat house and a deep-water dock – perfect for fishing, snorkelling and water sports. It's near the Ocean Reef Club and Miami International Airport and has a five-bedroom home, guest cottages, and a fabulous asking price of $200 million.

and to imagine in 40 years time this island, according to the Gore prophecy, will be under water. You would think islands like this would be sold for wasteland prices. :)

That's amazing.

You have to believe in AGW or you don't get any money?.

That would be fair if you don't believe it, you don't have to pay the tax.

I think Stalin and Chairman Mao worked that way too. Mao had a Little Red Book you had to wave in the air. Maybe the AGW cause has one too.

What does it mean by community? Is that all the residents of Tulsa? I always thought that the native Americans were among the wealthy elite, but maybe I'm wrong. Distributing money on racial grounds sounds very disturbing and political suicide.
