Even California is revolting against cap-and-trade
California’s election day propositions (ballot measures) are often said to lead the way for other states to follow. We are heartened to see the momentum behind a new ballot campaign to suspend California’s landmark global-warming law.
Supporters have “solid commitments” of nearly $600,000 to pay signature gatherers for the November initiative aimed at delaying curbs on the greenhouse gas emissions of power plants and factories until the state’s unemployment rate drops.
“We are on fire,” said Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-Marysville), a sponsor of the proposed initiative. “People are calling from all over the country. This will be the most intense campaign the state has seen in 50 years.”
Climategate’s home state is California. We can tell you for certain, people are angry, angrier than hell. At Obama, taxes, and illegal immigration, spending, and all the green shit crammed down our throats. The hippie state is finding its inner Ronald Reagan again.

“It would put all our efforts at energy efficiency and renewable energy in the deep freezer for a long time,” Mary Nichols said.
You see that subtle framing. Being in the deep freezer versus “We are on fire” by Dan Logue.
Margot Roosevelt has provided the quotes that the lamestream media will be using for this campaign.
The framing doesn’t end there.
The official wording of the initiative, however, lies in the hands of Atty. Gen. Jerry(atric) Brown, an outspoken advocate of AB 32 and a presumptive Democratic candidate for governor. On Wednesday, his office discarded the “jobs initiative” title in favor of the unwieldy: “Suspends Air Pollution Control Laws Requiring Major Polluters to Report and Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions That Cause Global Warming Until Unemployment Drops Below Specified Level for Full Year.”
Good move Moonbeam! I love it when the Dem front runner hangs a (wind)millstone around their neck. He’s an “outspoken supporter of AB 32″ who never mentioned global warming during his tenure as Oakland Mayor, never mentioned it on the campaign trail as he ran for Attorney General.
Well that’s about to change. AG Jerry(atric) is going to have to talk about how he is moving us into the 21st century by forcing us to use 16th century windmills.
Let the games begin.
Jerry Brown is a bad rash we tought we cured back when but you know how tenacious something like that can be.
Hey the people’s advocate have some banners ready made for hanging
http://www.suspendab32.org/banners.htm.
But since Moonbeam has already scotched the themes, lets roll with that punch and create some new ones. There has to be a theme that the skeptical community will embrace and post on their blogs (Personally I can’t think of a reason why any of the multitude of skeptics on the web wouldn’t have a banner up for this campaign. Seems like they aren’t thinking clearly.)
The worst thing that can happen to the eco-borg in the next election.
1) Suspend AB 32 initiative passes in California – the state where the AGW movement was born.
2) Senator Barbara Boxer is unseated – the most outspoken climate hysteric in the Senate voted out of office.
3) Henry Waxman voted out of the House – not likely being he’s in Hollywood.
1 and 2 are possible – even probable.
How can you not be onboard with that? It’s a no brainer.
Turn the waterback on in the central valley. Let the smelts die. Why don’ tenvironmentalists beleive in evolution If the smelt is threatened it should evolve into something that can survive! Suddenly evolution doesn’t exist when eco-nuts what to control you!
Here’s the dirty little secret about the smelt. They aren’t dying out because of low water. They are dying out becaue the sea lions, which have become a part of the tourism industry for San Francisco, are overwhelming the Sacramento/San Joaquin river system.
The seals eat up the smelt. Yum.
I knew I smelt something fishy.
