Review: “Global Warming: The Other Side”

Segment 1 of 5. Click page numbers at bottom of article for the rest.

Last night KUSI TV, presented “Global Warming: The Other Side,” a watershed program on the global warming/climate change controversy what is likely to become a classic. Presenter, John Coleman, meteorologist and iconic weatherman who founded the Weather Channel gave us a shocking exposition of the climate fraud story right from the early years when “big oil” front man, Maurice Strong used his position within the United nations in the 1970’s to push the environmental agenda and takes viewers through to the present and the ongoing Climategate emails scandal that broke last November in England.

Coleman’s show is a thorough debunking of junk climate science and reveals how crooked climatologists used chicanery to hype up the climate issue to the point of hysteria. Regular readers of Climategate.com may feel a sense of déjà vu when watching part 4 of the online version of the show when Coleman interviews computer programmer, and very fine climate blogger, E. Michael Smith (aka chiefio), and will recall my article of January 5, 2010, Crooked climatologists drop 806 (cold?) weather stations in a single year in which we scooped KUSI on this story. It was chiefio’s excellent research that inspired us here at Climategate.com to bring you the story first.

E.M. “Chiefio” Smith and Certified Consulting Meteorologist, Joseph D’Aleo join the program to tell us about their breakthrough investigation into the manipulations of data at the NASA Goddard Science and Space Institute at Columbia University in New York and the NOAA National Climate Data Center in Ashville, North Carolina.

The two analysts show how the number of actual weather observation points used as a starting point for world average temperatures calculations was reduced from about 6,000 in the 1970s to about 1,500 now. “That leaves much of the world unaccounted for. The greatest losses were in areas where NOAA and the other data centers claim the warming was the greatest like Siberia and Canada,” according to D’Aleo, who adds “In these regions, NOAA ‘estimates’ temperatures based on stations that may be 700 miles away.”

E.Michael Smith notes “When doing a benchmark test of the program, I found patterns in the input data from NCDC that looked like dramatic and selective deletions of thermometers from cold locations.” Smith says after awhile, it became clear this was not a random strange pattern he was finding, but a well designed and orchestrated manipulation process. “The more I looked, the more I found patterns of deletion that could not be accidental. Thermometers moved from cold mountains to warm beaches; from Siberian Arctic to more southerly locations, and from pristine rural locations to jet airport tarmacs. The last remaining Arctic thermometer in Canada is in a place called ‘The Garden Spot of the Arctic,’ always moving away from the cold and toward the heat. I could not believe it was so blatant and it clearly looked like it was in support of an agenda,” Smith says

D’Aleo asserts that the data manipulation is “scientific travesty” that was committed by activist scientists to advance the global warming agenda. I urge all readers inspired by the film to write to your elected representatives to point out your disgust at the way your tax dollars have been corruptly used to finance junk science propaganda. Feel free, if you wish, to use my letter to the UK Climate Minister, Joan Ruddock that we published the other day if it helps get your point across.

“Global Warming: The Other Side” is sure to be watched countless times on the Internet and will cause huge embarrassment to the green lobby that advocates steep cap and trade taxes. A detailed follow up to the program is planned and will be posted on the Science and Public Policy Institute website in the near future.

1.Thank you very much for John Coleman’ presentation and the accompanying quiz which sheds a lot of light on the subject and reveals the people and their motivations behind the entire fraud.
2.This also provides us with a “HOT AIR” warning about what the Government will tell us and how far removed from the truth their assertions are.
3.For people at large it is time to RESTRICT the hours spent in front of the idiot box feeding on the false and misleading information and learn to think and evaluate the happenings in our world and make our individual contribution to choosing the right representatives to safeguard us and our world.Or else:

    WE ARE DOOMED

  2. Has anyone else picked up on the total silence of the mainstream media about this shocking story? No wonder people are turning to the blogosphere to uncover the truth. It saddens me to admit it but first we had climategate then this! Clearly, those in power are working overtime to shut down REAL climate issues- corruption and subterfuge. At this rate the MSM will soon be totally ignored as a source of news.

      Good Morning John O’Sullivan..

Yes, I have noticed that there is a ringing silence concerning this issue on the part of the MSM. As well, I’ve noticed a similiar silence with regard to 300 lb. alligators being fished out of the sewers in New York not to mention the latest siting of Elvis in a public washroom in New Orleans.

Seriously, John..perhaps this ‘story’ is being ignored because it’s a non-story. Thanks to the blogosphere and the histrionics and bloviations of people like yourself, everyone and his dog has heard about ‘climategate’ and the ‘largest hoax of all time’ etc. etc. It’s not like it’s a secret.

But after examining the so-called hoax, it soon became apparent that although the emails revealed some bad (although, considering the circumtances, understandable) behaviour on the part of a small number of scientists, it really had nothing of any import to say about the science of AGW.

And no matter how much you and others try to pump air into this dead issue, it will not float although I will admit that your efforts will slow down any real attempts at mitigation.

I must say that I think the ‘climategate’ affair may have had a positive effect in that I believe (hope) scientific investigation and study of this matter will take place in a more open and public fashion so that we, the people, will at least have the opportunity to stay abreast of new information and developments.

However, judging from many comments on this and other such sites, there is little guarantee that such an opportunity will be taken advantage of.

Some of you just dont get it.

It is not about the Climate only but the fact that the whole system of administration has become exceedingly rotten through and through.Food and Drug and the Universities etc etc and so many of the offshoots of the UN have become so corrupt and self-serving they only serve those who seek to HARM us while PRETENDING to be SAFEGUARDING our interests and well-being.

If and when the true extent spread of their tentacles becomes revealed the people will wake up and think again about who is representing them–my answer is …………….. N O B O D Y
