IPCC co-chair Chris Field loses his cool with Roger Pielkie, Jr
On this February 2 BBC television show, co-chair of the IPPC Working Group Chris Field expresses regret for errors in the AR4 Report, and gets a bit upset during his interchange with professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado Roger Pielkie, Jr. Pielkie sets the record straight on how the IPCC had distorted his views.
Here in the U.S., we sure are jealous of the media in the UK, who are providing forums for debate on Climategate.

Pielkie The Younger maintains a sweet smile while cleanly removing Dr. Field’s danglers. Field falls back on the Madoff explanation when asked how he made money in good markets and bad “its complicated” No sir. It is not complicated, nuanced, or magic. The report is a sham along the same line as a prospectus for a Sanford investment fund. Dr. Field is left explaining the disclaimer language after the principles have already performed the perp walk. How Pielkie stays cool is beyond me but admirable.
Here in Australia the press has not even mentioned it yet.
Oz Media is as much ‘in the tank’ as American Media is I’m afraid.
It would be interesting to see what is held in a lot of pension funds, Just how much BS are >WE< holding and don't know about?
gb,
go to the ceres site to see a list of US pension funds and companies linked to this scam. Massive bets have been made on government action to artifically raise carbon prices. There is a specter haunting world financial markets. The carbon bubble bust would be equal to or greater than the recent mortgage bubble collapse. Let it break.
Here in the US, we have to go outside of the country to get less biased news (there’s almost always some bias because we’re all human).
Here we are blessed with ‘infotainment’ wherein news in entertainment are completely intermingled such that you have only the extremes being represented…rather than the predominantly slightly right-of-center populace.
Hence….the tea party movement and the return of the colonial Gadsen Flag everywhere you look (except for on the news networks).
BTW Mr Pielkie, if your assertion is correct, you might have a defamation case…look into it. Apparently, they misrepresented your views in the report and/or to policy makers.
It seems that the only way to set the record straight in a lasting manner is to win some lawsuits.
