James Cameron declares war on Climate Change, a threat as severe as that of WWII

The “greatest generation” aren’t going to be too happy to hear that Avatar director James Cameron considers himself and other greens, warriors who are facing down a threat as severe as our World War II veterans did against Germany and Japan.

In this video he was speaking at the Global Green USA‘s 7th Annual Pre-Oscar Party in Los Angeles. He was there with wife Suzi Amis in LA, and was joined by other fools who thought they, too, were saving the planet from certain death.

It will be interesting to see who the whipping boy will be at this year’s Academy Awards. They don’t have Bush to hit on this year, and ideology won’t allow them to speak badly of Obama, so we suspect we will be the villians this year–the deniers.

Does anyone know of any of the big Hollywood stars/producers/directors (or lesser stars) that haven’t bought into the AGW alarmist nonsense?
Has any of them actually looked at the evidence or considered ‘Climategate’ and all of the other ‘Gates’?

A true green would shut down all Hollywood studios immediately and refuse to make movies. The carbon footprint from creating and distributing Avatar is equal in size to that of a small country. He should reduce the size of his home to a maximum 2000 sq ft, totally refuse to travel first or business class on a plane, as a matter of fact he should quit flying altogether so urgent is his cause. More importantly he should demand that all Hollywood types should quit eating in restaurants especially the higher priced ones that have a phenomenal carbon foot print per capita. All golf courses in LA should be planted with myscanthus or other carbon absorbing plants. Come on James Cameron show us the light.

  3. Good for Cameron! I sincerely hope he brings his famed personality and people skills to this important subject!

    /snark.

Can James Cameron have a word with Tom Cruise?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have reportedly splashed out $3.6million on their 3 year old daughter’s clothes. I think that probably represents the biggest carbon footprint of any child in the world from a clothing perspective. That child must have the same carbon footprint as 100,000 children in Africa.

As a matter of fact can James Cameron please take out some ads in Vogue and ask for all the fashion houses and fashion industry to close down until this global warming problem has been fixed. Would be great to see James Hansen and James Cameron come together for this ever so urgent problem.

Emission impossible: Why Hollywood is one of the worst polluters

    http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/features/emission-impossible-why-hollywood-is-one-of-the-worst-polluters-400493.html

henever I visit a movie set it, always amazes me how much environmental damage is wrought in the name of entertainment. From the generators to the caterers delivering food onto set, making a film eats up energy like no other art form.

The activities of Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, George Clooney and Harrison Ford, to name a few, in promoting green issues and supporting bodies such as Greenpeace have, on the surface at least, made film-making seem environmentally conscious. But their time would be better spent helping to clean up the movie industry itself.

A study into the environmental impact of film-making in Hollywood, conducted by the University of California, showed that, in the Los Angeles region, it made a larger contribution, in relation to its size, to air pollution than most major industries, including aerospace manufacturing, clothing, and the hotel industry. Only fuel refining belched more emissions………………..

What a load of driveling hypocritical nonsense.

Whats the bet they all arrived in gas guzzling stretch limos and private aircraft and live in house 1000 times too big for them chewing up power at a rate 10000 times greater than the average, for even America.

When such serious public policy is being driven by the statements from a air headed Hollywood celebrities, who dont and wont set an example then you know that it is complete crock.

All these tossers are doing is following the example set by Al Gore The Nobel Prize winning crook.

What a sick joke it has all become
