Martin – you are absolutely right. It is an A1 Pepperorn Pacific locomotive that took nineteen years for a team of enthusiasts and engineers to build from scratch. It is a wonderful achievement and I join with you in doffing my hat to them. I expect that Charles was complimenting their efforts in having his train hauled by their locomotive.

When Charlie visited CRU he didn’t seem to mind associating with known criminals, and telling them to keep a stiff upper lip. Probably aware his mum didn’t have enough room to lock them up if the feeble ICO/CPS did take action. I would however think that London Tower is little used and deserving of some new occupants

I believe the locomotive Tonado was built from scratch (from a 1948 design) not “rebuilt”. Credit to its constructors, please.
