Scientists “puzzled” over global cooling in Antarctica
Funny how the warmers seem to always ignore the South Pole. But today we find a story discussing Antarctica in an article from Nature that says Antarctica is cooling.
“Our 14-year continuous weather station record from the shore of Lake Hoare reveals that seasonally averaged surface air temperature has decreased by 0.7 degrees Celsius per decade,” they write. “The temperature decrease is most pronounced in summer and autumn. Continental cooling, especially the seasonality of cooling, poses challenges to models of climate and ecosystem change.”

The findings are puzzling because many climate models indicate that the Polar regions should serve as bellwethers for any global warming trend, responding first and most rapidly to an increase in temperatures. An ice sheet many kilometers thick in places perpetually covers almost all of Antarctica.
Temperature anomalies also exist in Greenland, the largest ice sheet in the Northern Hemisphere, with cooling in the interior concurrent with warming at the coast.

The Global Cooling in Antarctica is in fact entirely consistent with the theory of Catastrophic Man-made Global Warming. How am I doing so far? Can I have that PR job at the IPCC….?
No surprises there. No urban heat island to mess with, so no opportunity for the climate scientists to homogenize the data. “Temperature anomalies also exist in Greenland, the largest ice sheet in the Northern Hemisphere, with cooling in the interior concurrent with warming at the coast.” Are they slowly breaking the news that the planet is cooling and that they were wrong all along.
The “new green energy” revolution was supposed to be the new lifeblood of economies in the west. Trillions were invested in green technology funds. The green jobs and green manufacturing went to China supplying the latest green fantasies to the west, while China went around the world buying the energy rights to oil and coal in Canada, Australia and Africa for the good old cheap reliable powered electric generation stations back home.
Environmentalism is the true winner in the global warming hoax, they have become legitimized pseudo-scientists. They received billions of dollars of taxpayer funding to invest in pseudo science which in turn made it harder for home based manufacturing to continue with what they were doing by the restrictive practices put in place by the continual lobbying of the ideological environmentalists.
The only part of Antarctica they talk about is the Antarctic Peninsula, where ice has been breaking.
Cloudiness is the only forcing agent that directly predicts the Antarctic climate anomaly, without the need for any further process. When cloudiness decreases, the world will warm up and the southern continent will cool down. Increase the cloudiness and Antarctica will be warmer while the rest of the world is chillier. That is exactly the contrast seen. But why do clouds affect the southern continent differently?
The snowfields of Antarctica create the whitest surface on the planet, brighter than the Arctic snow and whiter even than the cloud tops. As a result, the clouds absorb more energy from the Sun than the continent’s surface does in their absence and the clouds buffer and re-radiate heat towards the ground.

This is only one parameter in a complex environment of cause and effect. However climate predictions based on increases in carbon dioxide suggest simultaneous and intense warming in the polar regions of both hemispheres, which has not occurred.

I don’t see where you are going with this- the reflectivity of the Antartic snow limits its heat absorbency vs the open, moving water ot the Arctic, however, that same snow cover also insulates, and causes the South Pole to give up heat slowly. Black absorbs a higher percentage of radiated heat than white, especially when that white surface is also somewhate reflective.
We should regard clouds as an essential vehicle for creating “weather”, meaning, on this planet, changes in climate
So what you’re saying is ‘global cooling is evidence of global warming’.
If you believe that the planet’s warming irrespective of what the temperature is then you are a ‘believer’ in the religious sense.

Well at least Greenpeace and other environmentalists get their wish of reducing world population. Genocide by starvation, the nuclear bomb of the environ mentalists.

It is clear that the climate hacks have no more idea as to what is the causation of Natural variation than they have of what constitutes TRUTH.
The whole climate shebang is a UN,Greens,Marxist governments and grasping businesses TRICK on the worlds public to live in an hibernation mode ,while paying LARGE TAXES.
This is so true, but the sheer devastation caused by all the climate shenanigans has real costs attached, genocide by starvation, millions of lost jobs, liberty & freedom diminished, science tarnished and economies turned upside down by the propaganda of the green movement. It is time to cut off the social welfare payments to the environmental movement. Any genuine environmental proposals will always be able to stand on it’s own two feet in a free market.
Climategate, Glaciergate, Africagate, Amazongate, Hurricanegate … and still the mainstream media in America has been virtually silent through it all.
The only mention of Climategate on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, is to downplay the significance of the controversy. It’s quite remarkable really.
Did anyone notice that the article was from 2002? Kind of suspect that this was never mentioned in the blog post. It doesn’t diminish the article’s significance, but it should at least be mentioned so as not to mislead readers.
