Senior U.S. House members go after EPA CO2 limits

It looks like some US House democrats are splitting away from their leftist party members. House committee chairmen from Minnesota and Missouri are floating legislation to block planned EPA greenhouse gas rules.

Reps. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) and Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) — who head the Agriculture and Armed Services committees, respectively — introduced a plan Tuesday that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from placing limits on heat-trapping emissions from power plants, factories and other sources.

“I have no confidence that the EPA can regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act without doing serious damage to our economy,” Peterson said in a prepared statement. “Americans know we’re way too dependent on foreign oil and fossil fuels in this country — and I’ve worked hard to develop practical solutions to that problem — but Congress should be making these types of decisions, not unelected bureaucrats at the EPA.”

That’s a good start if you don’t want to get voted out of office in November. Now keep it up.

    Lets hope they are sucessful in blocking the EPA

    If you guys can stop this lunacy then it will help us to stop them in the UK

    The EPA made an ideological decision based on ideologically tainted science. Moderate (sane) Democrats like Skelton won’t accept that. We’ll take all the help we can get but the coup de grace will have to come from us. Skelton will try to limit the damage to the government. He likes government in general if he’s in control of it.
