The AGW theory is dying yet the carbon market goes on

In the UK, Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) isn’t a political issue, because all three major political parties support it. I consider AGW, instead, to be an anti-democratic movement. No matter which way you vote, you get it.

And get it you do. This is from the website of a politician representing a deprived UK inner city constituency.

…..introduction in April of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC). This will introduce mandatory carbon emissions trading for all businesses and organizations who consume more than 6,000MWh per year of electricity (equivalent to an annual electricity bill of about £500,000) – meaning that organizations who manage to reduce their emissions are able to sell their excess energy on, whilst those who continue to be high consumers will bear the financial burden of having to purchase additional carbon allowances.

Who do you think the burden (cost) will be passed on to ?

The scheme begins in April 2010, when organizations will have to record and report their carbon emissions over the course of the year, before purchasing their first emissions allowance based on those figures in April 2011. Initially, carbon emission allowances will be sold at the fixed price of £12 per tonne of carbon dioxide, before being subject to auction from 2013.

So, the solution is to form a massive new financial market dealing in an intangible product, already widely reported to be riddled with fraud?

Considering that the Copenhagen Summit fell dead on the floor, why is the UK government launching itself into massive cost penalties on our industry (which we consumers will end up paying) regardless? All this while our economy is fighting for survival.

May the farce be with you…

All WE can do is Boycott the companies that use this idiotic scheme

  3. william says:

utter madness!! which party can we vote for now they are all in this.

and the middle men taking their cut are the banks.

  4. william says:

ade- good idea, we need a website to point out which companies to boycott and what costs they are passing on to us! , that should get then thinking.

  5. william says:

    carboncompanyfraud.com that should do it.

  6. william says:

we can only hope the newspapers finally get hold of this and ridicule it.

    Ok The telegraph has.

Thats me done for today whilst having my morning three cups of tea.

We all assume the total incompetence and stupidity of our politicians is the reason for this farce. However, one does not need to be particularly bright to see the damage that will be wrought in Europe and North America, or that China and India will go on industrialising with no regard to emissions.

Our politicians may be greedy, vicious and corrupt, but they aren’t stupid. Maybe we should be asking, “Why are our politicians intentionally destroying our economies in the West to the benefit of those in the East?”

I can only see two possibilities. One, to enrich themselves and their sponsors at the expense of the rest of us, and the scond, to bring everything down to be rebuilt it in their image.

OK, this is a bit tin foil, but can anyone think of any other motives for the West comitting suicide?

    • DougS says:

I’ve also wondered about this. It’s so obviously stupid that I keep asking myself if there’s something I’m missing. Is there a master plan that will reveal itself in the fullness of time and we’ll come out on top?
If there is, I really can’t think how it’s going to work so I keep coming back to my original thoughts, viz.

      Are they stupid/deluded?
Are they pretending to be stupid/Deluded?
Are they corrupt and want to enrich themselves?
Are they lazy and just do as they’re told?
Are they eco-loons who want to return us to the Bronze Age?

I suspect that different ones will have different reasons but I fear that the grand master plan isn’t amongst them.

    • Tom Roe says:

There is a third option: they believe in it. AGW which assaults our senses as an obvious monsterous hoax clearly has millions of true believers. Their strenght and depth has been built up over decades making the believers a powerful political force. So powerful in fact that they hold the left to middle ground in virtually every First World country. That’s no small achievement. WE are the outriders striving mightily to turn the wheel of history back from it’s pre-determined course. The great difficulty of that task will make our victory for freedom one for the ages.

  8. It is plain to see that the issue of ‘carbon credits’ is going to be a major problem for the next UK government. Do not expect any mention of it this side of a general election. It is very clear that the vast majority of the UK public do not believe in the AGW scam.
Pouring vast sums of money to so-called ‘carbon traders’ is a monumental folly:
“And here’s the great thing about it. Unlike traditional commodities markets, which will eventually involve delivery to someone in physical form, the carbon market is based on lack of delivery of an invisible substance to no-one. Since the market revolves around creating carbon credits, or finding carbon reduction projects whose benefits can then be sold to those with a surplus of emissions, it is entirely intangible.” (Telegraph)

    john east,

The suicide of the West is explored in detail in psychological terms here.. The key concepts are narcissism and post-modernism, which enable our “leaders” to destroy our countries while feeling good about themselves.

It’s suicide, but more specifically, it’s auto-erotic asphyxiation.

    • DougS says:

Gordon Brown gave a prime example when he returned from Copenhagen and announced (no, boasted) that he’d given away £1.5 billion of our money. Not money that we had, but money added to the national debt!
This should have been met with a hail of outrage and derision in the MSM, but it wasn’t.

  10. cindy says:

Carbon trading is not a victimless crime, there are many companies already defrauded by the carbon trading hoax. In the coming years it is the courts that are going to get to the bottom of the fraudulent CO2 science, not the IPCC. When the fake science has been revealed in the courts there will be a lot of companies going to be looking to retrieve the money they were fraudulently pushed into.

CO2 class action lawsuits, only a matter of time.

  11. mel64d says:

…this is how they take over our lives…the New World Order was something you heard very little about 15-20 years ago, but in the last 10-12 years it has been on the lips of high and not so high ranking people in the world.
…no matter how much we can prove all this carbon crap to be a scam, they will push on, they do not care about any one person (other than themselfs) they see only percentages %% that way they have no name or face to haunt them at night.

  12. Spenc Canada says:

All in the name of depopulation. The fix is in on this folks. To many of the rich of the world have investments that they are determined to safe guard. When the Carbon market goes under then I will believe this farce will come to naught. Until then I believe we are in for very hard times in the developed world.

  13. Tom Roe says:

How are companies coerced into cooperating with the carbon scam? Representative Henry Waxman of California is giving the business world a lesson in power politics now. The committee he chairs is the one which has forced Mr. Toyoda of Japan to appear before it like a frightend school boy. That’s power in action. Mr Waxman is also a prime mover behind the climate change legislation which passed the House. He’s a tough dedicated SOB who represents mostly the Hollywood elite.

  14. Tom Roe says:

Please allow me a personal story on Waxman’s mate in the US Senate Barbara Boxer; Chairwoman of the committee overseeing the EPA. Ms. Boxer was my Congresswoman in the mid-eighties when I was in school. 4 nights a week I managed a 24 hour restaurant to make ends meet. One of my few perks as manager was a free meal which I rarely ate. Early one morning I spotted a homeless guy hanging around the foyer. I started out toward him and he started off the property thinking I was coming to help him along. He was obviously in some mental distress so I calmed him and asked him to come inside for breakfast which was not an uncommon act. Taking his bag of junk in one hand and him in the other I sat him down at a table close to a middle-aged couple. I could tell that the lady was watching all of this with interest. I had the waitress order him a large breakfast with all the trimmings and gave him a smoke when he was finished. The petite lady who had been watching walked up to me and with obvious excitment let me know how much she “admired” what she had seen me do. Knowing who she was I said “this industry has a long tradition of feeding people like this man” Boxer is anti-business and homelessness was a hot issue in those days. She probably didn’t realize that I knew who she was but I hoped what I was trying to communicate to her got through just a little. Based on her behavior since then I’d have to say it didn’t.

LOL! Financial markets by definition deal in intangible products.

    • Graham says:

Your ignorance is so great I can’t help you Dominic.

The next time you see a car tap it and listen to the noise, then go and find a Carbon Offset and do the same. Be sure not to come back until you’ve accomplished the tasks.

  16. PaulsNZ says:

This is tantamount to treason!. People get executed for far less!.

  17. ADE says:

How do they know who’s CO2 it is they are flogging ,it could be mine ,and its not for sale.
The whole idea is foolish but we are governed by fools idiots and liars ,so what can we expect
Any British politician that classifies Palmoil plantations as RAINFOREST is in it for the Money.
Shows its all lies, politics and TAXES

  18. anne says:

No Western Governments are ever going to give up this massive cash cow, they are not concerned at all with regard to impoverishing the masses, or their children and grandchildren. As long as the elites can continue flying in their private jets and travelling in their limo’s pontificating as to how the rest of us should live the fraud will go on and on. In the Uk the only party that totally opposes AGW and the EU is UKIP, and I hope everyone votes for them.
