The lies of Aussie Climate Minister, Penny ‘Wrong’
We're not sure if Ms. Wong is telling us how little man-made climate change there really is, or something about her boss, Kevin Rudd's, anatomy.
Our Australian skeptic friend, Val Majkus, has sent me a link to a speech made yesterday by Australian nutjob, Penny Wong, who is the Aussie Federal Minister for Climate Change and Water.
Wong somehow kept a straight face when she told the crowd: “Climate change [is] happening more quickly than we previously thought.”
Wong was addressing the first national forum on coasts and climate change in Adelaide and promulgating all the usual doomsaying myths for her dwindling band of climate cult followers that global temperatures are fast rising and sea levels, as a consequence, will rise by a meter this century.
Then, the self-serving climate minister showed no remorse for going on to smear tens of millions of concerned citizens that form the grassroots movement of climate skeptics by implying they are under the sway of the tobacco lobby! Wong will come to rue her ludicrous statements. Projecting herself as some kind of high priestess. She is, in fact, no more than another gray-suited peddler of snake oil patter.
Here in Britain the mainstream media has remembered what it means to do objective journalism. Sadly, the Aussie press hasn’t yet woken up to Wong’s wonky word spin–but they will. The days of her ilk are numbered. So I need only proffer a couple of simple facts to debunk Wong’s ‘catastrophic’ global warming myth. But the minister won’t want her audience to hear such basic truths:
First, as widely reported, Professor Phil Jones, one of the world’s key alarmist climate scientists, admitted to the BBC last week that there has been no statistically significant rise in global temps for 15 years.

Second, scientists from 50 research and operational agencies from 26 countries have proved that world sea levels have fallen for the past six years.

I checked the local sea level data (Fort Denison Sydney), which shows 8mm increase over the past 25 years, and no change for the past 5 years. Sea level has been slowing increasing for the past 20,000 years. It’s time Penny Wong stopped listening to the media, and had a look at actual data.
Personally, I believe that the Rudd government is so far in debt, that it needs to pass the ETS as the only way to recover, no matter what the science says.
In June 2009 Australian Senator Steve Fielding raised fundamental questions on climate change with Penny Wong. He received a typical politicians response – lots of waffle but no answers. I have spent months debating this UN-inspired propaganda on Australian Senator Steve Fielding’s blogs, starting with his “Assessment of Penny Wong’s Response to My 3 Questions on Climate Change” and more recently on his “Have Your Say” thread “Climate Change”.. This debate has involved both sides of the argument, with supporters of the human-made climate change myth now reduced to nothing more than the hurling of insults and ridicule. They have no sound argument whatsoever, just like the politicians, the IPCC, the WMO and UNEP. The whole scam is collapsing around their ears, fortunately just in time for a conclusive defeat of the Rudd government’s proposed super-tax scheme, the ETS. The only real disappointment is that the main opposition party’s new leader doesn’t have the courage to admit the truth about the lies behind the scam, pretending instead that he has a much less economically damaging ETS proposal for fighting the mythical war against global climate change. Politicians – who trusts them?

Penny Wong is a pest who is trying to vandalise her country. She is untruthful in the extreme, much like her boss Kevin Rudd, the most incompetent PM in Australia’s history. Penny Wong has no credibility & is a totally hopeless Minister & Member of Parliament.

Despite her being a lawyer, as a profession and a discipline that one usually associates with the careful use of words, she still does not comprehend nor explain the definition of Climate Change.
It is defined as being both natural and anthroprogenic..but they use it in the context of being either:
1.Only natural
2.Only Anthroprogenic
3.Sometimes they mean both inclusively
Clearly it has to be the third and only the third,which then begs the question, if they dont know the exact contribution by each then what is the point in spending trillions to lower one bit, whilst the other is doing what it will.
Of course neither the Chief Scientist nor that king alarmist Prof steffen would bother ensuring that this is explained to Wong and the general public..they have got her trained to just peddle the mantra no matter what
I believe that we need to be careful of the words that are used in this debate. Words can be used to twist the meaing of an arguement as well as place one side automatically in the wrong. The term Climate Change that is now being used is an example. Like all terms adopted by the environmental movement such as, for example sustainability, it can be used to include anything. In this way any anomolous weather event can be linked to Climate Change and their cause. The whole purposs of this debate is about “Catatrophic Man Made Global Warming”. Whether any warming is catrastrophic and whether it is man made is what the whole deal is about. If it is not catastrophic then there is non problem. If it is not man made then the response to it is totally different to that proposed by Rudd and Wong. No other term should be used.

Spot on MadJak! We have a right to be mad! I’d love to see the black and white due diligence behind the Rudd government policy.
Her implication that we need to cut CO2 emissions to save beaches etc is hanging out there in the wind – it ignores both the science and the politics. The smart governments are watching the dumb ones tax themselves to economic extinction. Unfortunately, Penny is clearly telling us which sort we’ve got – for now!

Wong is a moronic automaton munching on whatever her speech writers dream up. Everyone in Australia know this, and people in other countries should also understand this. The current Australian government won’t last long but whatever takes its place won’t be any brighter.
If you don’t buy the AGW nonsense, you should support Abbott. Yes, he has his direct action plan to combat climate change, but that is only because so many Aussies still think they are saving the planet from the latest Greens bogeyman – he has no choice but to offer something.
But we all know from past comments and from he and Minchin’s leadership challenge last year that he doesn’t believe a word of it. Luckily, Abbott’s plan can easily be rolled back if all of this blows over; Rudd’s is much more difficult to back out of.
So I say to any that have despaired with Aussie politics, Abbott is our best chance in this fight.

Ross James and I have been engaged in debate over this for months on Senator Fielding’s blogs and his “Have your say” thread “Climate Change”. Many of us there have been writing to the Australian politicians since before the Senate vote last year and ahead of the next one. As several here have encouraged others to do, the pressure must be maintained. Politicians will only change their tactics if they see that retribution will be taken by the voters. This was evidenced here in the UK after exposure of the scandalous expenses claims. They scuttled to try to give the impression of really being “right honourabe” and “honourable” but they have fooled no one. It is the same with the UN’s dangerous human-made global climate change scam.
Dr Who and Cameron talk here about the definition of “climate change”. There are two major definitions, the scientific one and that of the IPCC. Politicians and others with vested interests are putting in massive effort into shoring up the collapsing IPCC but it is failing miserably. Let’s not forget what the IPCC admits in its 2004 report about its formation (my highlight) QUOTE: The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of HUMAN-INDUCED CLIMATE CHANGE, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. Review by experts and governments is an essential part of the IPCC process. The Panel does not conduct new research, monitor climate-related data or recommend policies. It is open to all member countries of WMO and UNEP. UNQUOTE.
It repeats this in its blinkered “Definition of Climate Change” with QUOTE: Note that the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in its Article 1, defines “climate change” as: “a change of climate which is ATTRIBUTED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY TO HUMAN ACTIVITY THAT ALTERS THE COMPOSITION OF THE GLOBAL ATMOSPHERE and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.” The UNFCCC thus makes a distinction between “climate change” attributable to human activities altering the atmospheric composition, and “climate variability” attributable to natural causes. UNQUOTE.
It’s sole objective appears to have been to provide fodder for the UN’s propaganda machine, pretending to show that humans are responsible for catastrophic global climate change through our use of fossil fuels. Why could this be? Perhaps to support the UN’s prime agenda:
- redistribution of wealth form developed to underdeveloped economies,
- establishment of a framework for global government,
- enhancement of the finances of a privileged few.
At long last (long overdue) the mainstream media is reporting the sceptical side of the debate and the general public are fast becoming aware of the scam.
Chris M suggests that Wong’s real country is China, well “there is many a true word spoken in jest”. Founder member of this UN fraud Maurice Strong lives where? Which country is becoming dominant globally? Which country will become the major global economy within this decade? The answer is – CHINA.

This is not a case of “some scientists disagree with her position”… but far more seriously, “her own science disagrees with her position!”.

Penny needs to visit Roger Pielke Jr’s blogg to see what Robert Muir-Wood’s paper on catastrophes and temperature really says:
“We find insufficient evidence to claim a statistical relationship between global temperature increase and normalized catastrophe losses”.

Perhaps Penny and her department of hot air could state in their own words exactly what the evidence is for man caused global warming. The IPCC can’t seem to find any. All the IPCC has are models.
Despite fossil fuel burning increasing 1200% after WW2, the rate of global temperatures rise decreased. Perhaps Penny could also give evidence for her ridiculous claim that “Climate change [is] happening more quickly than we previously thought.”

I do have a problem with yesterday’s speech of the Hon. Penny Wong. She said….
…. The risks are real.Up to 247,000 residential buildings are at risk of flooding from a 1.1 metre sea level rise. Their replacement value is up to $63 billion….
These figures were suggested late last year by The Minister and I do mean “suggested”. I understood, and I believe that we all understood at the time, that the 1.1 meter sea rise was an ambit figure created by her, as a basis on which to build a scenerio.
She now says that the figure is real. (or does she? I am not that familiar with the Labor science of “spin”).
In the event, unless someone can supply the scientific opinion that was the basis for the 1.1 meter sea rise, then I call the woman a liar.
