Why do a few scientists at NAS feel compelled to group the entire organization together and fund advertisements on the back of the New York Times promoting a faith based concensus?

Not for truth, because in science the truth makes it’s own way to the surface. Also there is no mention of adding very specific scientifically proven points to the article that backs up the the global warming hypothesis. Just a non committed statement, a peer pressured bullying consensus that the science is settled. Scientists within NAS should be ashamed at tactics suggested by these alarmist scientists abusing the publics confidence.

There is only one reason they are doing it and that is to make sure the flow of taxpayer dollars into a problem that doesn’t exist continues. On the scale of things climate forecasting has barely begun and within a space of less than twenty years the entire climate science has developed into an overfed astrologists bubble that needs constant petting and feeding. Tipping points and catastrophies, all the qualities needed to be a brilliant quack climate scientist.

Now, if NAS was genuine they would be calling for the urgent release of all raw data and computer model codes and let the debate begin. Instead, it is the usual religious defense mechanism, “we have seen with our own eyes, trust us”. Science is stooping lower and lower and the few alarmist scientists are doing most of the damage. But it is very hard for any genuine scientist to stand up as the cabal of alarmist scientists will destroy the careers of anyone who begs to differ.

NAS, scientific bullying by alarmist scientists.

I used to be an atheist until I found Climate Science.

Apparently we have all missed the point. Jones is a poor humble scientist who has been misquoted at every opportunity by unscrupulous ‘deniers’.
So full marks for the Toronto Star for putting the record straight with some hard hitting scientific analysis.

    What…?!!

I thought D Pole smacked Monbiot around pretty well. One-on-one we tend to win these things as even a casual viewer can recognize the one-note alarmist appeal to emotion. Beyond fear of the unknown they’ve got zip.

  5. Graham says:

Mobbiot’s little propaganda film had some very crass subliminal messages going on as he tilled his manicured vegetable patch with rich manure trying to purvey the picture of a rustic idyll. It didn’t work when he then showed a gieaming steel wind turbine churning in the background, not in the background, spoiling the view from his substantive property I add.

It went askew when he started warning of rising sea levels, for no apparent reason, especially when that claim is far from settled by scientists. It seemed to represent a ‘return to being a hippy’ which is fine if he wants to do it, but don’t try and make it law that everyone must join in.

  6. If we’re talking about body language have a look at this screenshot at the end of the debate:

Looks like a man who has lost the argument to me.
