Welcome to the new Mini Ice Age

As a teenager in the 70′s I remember newspapers and magazines filled with warnings that the earth risked entering a new Ice Age. It was another fear tactic by those who want to find ways to control our lives. But now we have real scientists, using real science, beginning to conclude that we really are entering a mini Ice Age. And it’s not due to exhaling factories or farting cows. In fact, they are not blaming you at all.

No, according to some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists, the literally freezing winter over much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the beginning of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last through 2030 to 2040.

Their research, based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, shows that much of the warming of the last century was caused not by CO2, but by oceanic cycles when they were in a ‘warm mode’ as opposed to the present “cold mode.”

Their predictions fly in the face of Anthropogenic Global Warming propaganda of politicians, politically motivated scientists, and AGW-funded academia who believe say that climate science is already “settled,” and you are the cause.

Just who are these scientists? Quoting from the Mail Online’s article, The Mini Ice Age returns:

Among the most prominent of the scientists is Professor Mojib Latif, a leading member of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which has been pushing the issue of man-made global warming on to the international political agenda since it was formed 22 years ago.

Prof Latif, who leads a research team at the renowned Leibniz Institute at Germany’s Kiel University, has developed new methods for measuring ocean temperatures 3,000ft beneath the surface, where the cooling and warming cycles start.

He and his colleagues predicted the new cooling trend in a paper published in 2008 and warned of it again at an IPCC conference in Geneva last September.

Last night he told The Mail on Sunday: ‘A significant share of the warming we saw from 1980 to 2000 and at earlier periods in the 20th Century was due to these cycles – perhaps as much as 50 per cent.

‘They have now gone into reverse, so winters like this one will become much more likely. Summers will also probably be cooler, and all this may well last two decades or longer.

You need to read the entire, excellent article by David Rose, but we’ll end our summary of it with this:

But he added: ‘I do not believe in catastrophe theories. Man-made warming is balanced by the natural cycles, and I do not trust the computer models which state that if CO2 reaches a particular level then temperatures and sea levels will rise by a given amount.

‘These models cannot be trusted to predict the weather for a week, yet they are running them to give readings for 100 years.’

Prof Tsonis said that when he published his work in the highly respected journal Geophysical Research Letters, he was deluged with ‘hate emails’.

He added: ‘People were accusing me of wanting to destroy the climate, yet all I’m interested in is the truth.’

Truth. Remember when all scientists and academics sought it?

Put this together with a quiet sun and a maunder min. is on its way

  2. DougS says:

Professor Latif is going to find that he’s completely out of favour with his buddies (or rather, the small cabal that runs it) at the IPCC, who cannot tolerate any view other that the one they’ve already decided on.
And if he had any thoughts of appearing on the (unspeakable) BBC he’s blown them, as they only feature scientist who’ll toe the ‘party line’ on AGW.

  3. The Daily Mail are doing a good job of reporting matters that deserve public scrutiny, this paper and the Telegraph are leading the way for the MSM. Worth going to have a look at James Delingpole’s latest at the Telegraph:

UK MP’s are just beginning to get wind of the scale of the fraud too.
Its going to be a long haul.

Yes, the truth in love are all we need. Stop doubting the scientists. Keep watching our climate, and try to get out ahead of it during this benevolent solar lull. Personally I can handle a dusting of snow in a Houston winter, but not a permanent Texas drought nor sustained 50+ deg C summer heat.

Please stop being glib about the science of global heating introduced by atmospheric carbon. It has the potential to define, from a human perspective, our eternity.

Yeah i wouldn’t mind a few extra degrees over here in the summer too, trouble is it ain’t happening
