When all else fails, use the Nazi card

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen last-ditch efforts to persuade an audience by making comparisons to Nazism. This time, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is comparing skeptics to those who ignored the rise of Nazism in Germany the 1930s.

At a Senate hearing Tuesday, Sanders said:

“It reminds me of an event that took place in this country and around the world in the late 1930s. During that period of Nazism and fascism’s growth-a real danger to this country and democratic countries around the world- there were people in this country and in the British parliament who said ‘don’t worry! Hitler’s not real! It’ll disappear!”

Weather isn’t Nazism. And even if one believes in man-made climate change, it’s not Nazism either.

And, by the way, we’d say that self-described socialist Senator Sanders is a lot closer to Neville Chamberlain than to Winston Churchill, and would have very likely himself looked the other way as Hitler instituted his national socialist agenda, much as his socialist boss Barack Obama is doing.

But skeptics should really take this criticism with a smile, because when they pull this card, you know they don’t have much left.

The only Nazis in “climate goings on” are the people who have been using fear inducing propoganda to further their cause.

You anti-sciencers sure are a bunch of whiny babies. Who cares what Bernie Sanders says?

    • Editor says:

I care Dominic. He is a vote in the US Senate, and I live in the US.

      And quit your whining, baby.

Anti-sciencer? I think you should take this test. Specifically, #6.

Dominic is there something wrong? You forgot to mention methane gas in this post. I am very disappointed in you.

      • Dominic says:

That’s awesome, I don’t see what that has to do with the science.

        • Garry says:

It has to do with the politicization of the science, which is clearly evidenced by Bernie Sanders speaking about the topic. QED.

Dominic, you’ve entered discussion that is most obviously about the public policy surrounding AGW, and then you feign surprise that it isn’t “about the science.” Not only that, you’ve engaged in precisely that non-science discussion.

It’s all just a tad disingenuous.

          • Dominic says:

Why would you guys be debating about public policy for something you don’t think exists?

Seems a pretty crummy argument to me, you’re essentially saying “We’d rather not disprove AGW, instead, we just don’t wanna pay for it”

    • Michele says:

      Dominic is a certifiable idiot.

In the time of Hilter they could see and prove what he was doing.
Today, they can’t prove at all that we are the cause of gobal warming….no one seems to think about the sun…boy can’t be that giant ball of fire burning in the sky. If we are the cause then why is Mars, Venus, and Uranus (no pun intended) warming and cooling close to the same amount the Earth is!!?? Or is that what they did with all the big suv’s from the clunker program…sent them to all these other planet’s and now thier climate is in danger!!! yep must be use…lol

The whiners are all in the AGW camp now Dominic.

I hear Al Gore is taking his world comedy stand up tour to the Philippines, sponsored by a shopping mall company. I think Dr Pacauri had something to say about shopping malls didn’t he Dom ?

Funnily enough the site Pachauri is overseeing for the upcoming Commonwealth Games has one too. I suppose it’s like his golf course, only for the selected elite in Goreland.

That reminds me, Dr Pachauri even chided the Bahraini’s about their golf courses some time back without mentioning his own naughty secret, but that’s the benefit of hypocrisy. Do as I say not do as I do.

An outrage and a blatant distortion of history. Bernie Sanders is an Independent because the Democratic Party is to far to the right for his taste. Throughtout the Thirties the European and American Left preached disarmament as part of a false “peace campaign” Winston Churchill (who dispised double-dealers like Bernie) made this plain in his defense of the humiliated Chamberlin against attacks from the British Left. Not to mention Senator Sanders own record of votes against anything resembling American action in defense of anything. Bernie Sanders is a lying hypocritical scumbag. In his abuse of history he is acting like a brownshirted thug.

Actually the similarities of today and yestaryear are quite remarkable. One hundred years ago eugenics was being promoted as a suggested form of social engineering. Today intellectuals are using climate science as a vehicle for social change.
